YJ- Season 2 so far...

So I haven't really been posting much concerning the new YJ time jump so I thought I would start a journal just to have somewhere to stick my thoughts.

There are a lot of great things playing out in the show now... and a lot of things I didn't think they would put in a cartoon for kids [not that there is anything wrong with the actual images or dialog but a lot of mature information is implied if you know your character histories.]

Aqualad was an interesting experience this season. I was hoping for some flashbacks to better explain everything [though I read the comics so I kinda know anyway it still would have been nice to see] I'm still banking on them eventually getting to a series of flashback eps but until then I won't hold my breath. The fact that Aqualad is now a "bad guy" I was hoping that Garth would become Aqualad instead [since he was the original Aqualad from Teen Titans] but that didn't seem to happen either. It almost looks like Lagoon boy is the orange man's new sidekick... which bugs me but mostly due to the fact that he isn't an Atlantian [I know it probably shouldn't bug me but it does].

Ok... on a Megan note... anyone else think that she is like... seriously scary this season? I mean... sure she was a powerful mind reader w/e before but... she has some serious mind raping ep's this season. I'm really not trusting of a character with power like that, even if it is bad ass. The new haircut is also a great bonus, just not as much a fan of Lagoon boy as her BF. Once again pairing aliens with aliens [I think Lagoon boy is an alien...? or is he a mutant... idk]

Once again Tim Robin is getting a little shafted out of screen time. What is with the Robin's being shoved in the background... I've seen more of Nightwing [not that I'm complaining about that] than Tim this season. I would say same goes for Batgirl but this week's ep features her and the ladies going up against Queen- Bee so she gets some more love.

Superboy is just... eh... Superboy. It's interesting to see him jealous over Lagoon boy and M'gann but something from the ep where M'gann reads that aliens mind [the one John was trying to break] that gives me the impression that he agrees with me in the fact that M'gann is a scary chick.

Blue Beetle... no complaints about him actually. I think they did him perfectly. I love how they actually show the "battles with the suit" thing.

Roy was in the last ep which made me REALLY freakishly happy! I thought it was just awesome how they actually brought Cheshire and the baby into it; I didn't think they would go that far. I can't wait to see where that goes...

The thing that sticks in my mind the most though is when Dick says that none of them [besides Oliver and maybe some of the older heroes] never meet the real Speedy! Somehow they discovered that he was taken before Dick and Walley ever meet him... which completely threw me for a loop and somewhat disappointed me, mostly because it takes away a lot of the tense desperation about the situation. I mean sure it sad and all but... when it come down to it there is no real emotional attachment to the real Speedy for the in-show characters and the viewer because none of them/us knows the "real Speedy.

That being said it's a little depressing that Wally is not a cape for the time being; I'm not so depressed about Artemis apparently not being one along with him because I wasn't a huge fan of her to begin with but I'd still like to see some more shots with them.

Now... the end of last weeks ep. OMG!!! WAS THAT DEATHSTROKE! Please let it be Deathstoke!!



If anyone actually read this massive rant thing then congrads!!! It might be too long for most people to bother reading all of it XD.
